Köyceğiz

Citta Slow Köyceğiz

The Cittaslow movement guides our districts with unique identities in Turkey to adopt a new local development model and to find new ways to make a difference. As a Cittaslow Paradise, Turkey's embrace of the calm city movement, enables it to sail into new horizons, increase environmental movements, socialization, culture, technology and sustainability at the same rate. Cittaslow Köyceğiz membership candidateship was accepted on 23 March 2019 and Köyceğiz have become the 17th quiet city with the participation of Cittaslow president Stefano Pisani, Cittaslow Secretary General Pier Giorgio Oliveti, Cittaslow Turkey coordinator Tunç Soyer and Cittaslow Turkey Technical Coordinator Bülent Köstem in order to protect, promote and share identity in Turkey.

Kaunos Ancient Ruins

Dates back to 3000 BC.  It is thought that history of this city goes back to 3000 BC. Kaunos city-state was rich enough to strike gold coins in their own name and it has hosted over 10 great civilisations from Ionians to Ottomans.
Rock Tombs

Temple-fronted Rock Tombs. Although they are named after Dalyan, Kaunos rock tombs are actually within borders of Köyceğiz. They are one of the most prominent historical monuments of the region. On the route from Koycegiz to Iztuzu by boat, they are located on your right when you arrive at Dalyan city centre. The limestone slope on the opposite side of the canal, catches the eyes of the visitors of Dalyan, with the magnificent rock tombs carved on it.
Ekincik Bay

Natural Detox Center. Ekincik Bay is located 30 kms from Köyceğiz, on the Mediterranean coast. Many boats and yachts are attracted to this place because it is a safe bay like a natural harbor, the water is crystal clear and the scenery is amazing. Seeing Ekincik Bay at least once, must be in everyone’s bucket list. There are only a few hotels, pensions and restaurants. The area is still an unspoiled paradise. In the municipality-run beach, free parasols and sun-beds are provided for visitors.  Ekincik offers more than they expect to those who want to relax in a calm, quiet environment.
Sultaniye Hotsprings

Sultaniye Thermal is managed by Köyceğiz Municipality. It is known to have been used for thousands of years. There was a big hospital during the Roman Period and Byzantians expanded the facility and added accomodation facilities. The bubbling hot pools (temperatures can reach 39°C) contain mildly radioactive mineral waters that are rich in chloride, sodium, hydrogen sulphide and bromide. The facility can serve hundreds of daily visitors. You can go there by land, 500 meters from Köyceğiz-Ekincik road, or by boats from Köyceğiz, Ekincik and Dalyan.
